Biochemical adaptation of the muscles of the Channichthyidae to their lack of hemoglobin and myoglobin / G. Hamoir.
Title: | Biochemical adaptation of the muscles of the Channichthyidae to their lack of hemoglobin and myoglobin / G. Hamoir. |
Author(s): | Hamoir, G. |
Date: | 1988. |
Publisher: | Oxford: Pergamon Press |
In: | Marine biology of Antarctic organisms; proceedings of the International Conference on the Marine Biology of Antarctica, Ravello, Italy, [6-8 October 1986]. (1988.), |
Abstract: | Absence of two respiratory pigments does not prevent apparently normal differentiation of striated muscle into three usual types: fast skeletal, slow skeletal and cardiac. These muscle types are compared in Antarctic Channichthyidae and haemoglobin-containing species. |
Notes: | In: Marine biology of Antarctic organisms; proceedings of the International Conference on the Marine Biology of Antarctica, Ravello, Italy, [6-8 October 1986] / Guido di Prisco, Bruno Maresca, Bruno Tota, eds. |
Keywords: | 597.583.15 -- Channichthyidae. 591.11 -- Blood, body fluids and circulation. 591.1 -- Animal physiology. 591.17 -- Animal movement and locomotion. |
