Streamflow characteristics of the Qinghai (northern Tibetan) plateau / Zhengniang Yang, Ming-ko Woo.
Title: | Streamflow characteristics of the Qinghai (northern Tibetan) plateau / Zhengniang Yang, Ming-ko Woo. |
Author(s): | Yang, Zhengniang. Woo, Ming-ko. |
Date: | 1988. |
Publisher: | Trondheim: Tapir Publishers |
In: | Permafrost. Fifth International Conference. August 2-5, 1988. Proceedings. (1988.), Vol. 1. |
Abstract: | Permafrost occurs above 4200 m. Three types of runoff patterns may be distinguished according to primary sources of water: snowmelt and rainfall, glacier melt and snowmelt, and groundwater. Large rivers generally drain more than one environment and runoff regime reflects integration of various flow patterns found on plateau. |
