Record #94117:
A frost heave mechanism model based on energy equilibrium / Y. Miyata.
Title: | A frost heave mechanism model based on energy equilibrium / Y. Miyata. |
Author(s): | Miyata, Y. |
Date: | 1988. |
Publisher: | Rotterdam: A.A. Balkema |
In: | Ground freezing 88. Proceedings of the Fifth International Symposium on Ground Freezing, Nottingham, 28-28 July 1988. (1988.), Vol. 1. |
Abstract: | Results of numerical analysis agree with experimental results on dependence of frost heave ratio on overburden pressure and on ice penetration rates. In addition, it has been shown that frost heave ratio depends on ratio of temperature gradient in unfrozen soil to rate of ice penetration. |
Notes: | In: Ground freezing 88. Proceedings of the Fifth International Symposium on Ground Freezing, Nottingham, 28-28 July 1988. Vol. 1. / R.H. Jones, J.T. Holden, eds. |
Keywords: | 551.343 -- Periglacial processes. Thermokarst. E12 -- Glaciology: frozen ground / snow and ice engineering. |
