Record #93871:
Predicting the occurrence of permafrost in the Alaskan discontinuous zone with satellite data / Leslie A. Morrissey.
Title: | Predicting the occurrence of permafrost in the Alaskan discontinuous zone with satellite data / Leslie A. Morrissey. |
Author(s): | Morrissey, Leslie A. |
Date: | 1988. |
Publisher: | Trondheim: Tapir Publishers |
In: | Permafrost. Fifth International Conference. August 2-5, 1988. Proceedings. (1988.), Vol. 1. |
Abstract: | Logistic regression model incorporated thematic mapper satellite-derived vegetation classification and thermal band used as surrogate for potential incoming solar radiation. Satellite-derived environmental variables predicted spatial distribution of three permafrost mapping categories (frozen, discontinuous, unfrozen) with 75% accuracy. |
Notes: | In: Permafrost. Fifth International Conference. August 2-5, 1988. Proceedings. Vol. 1. / Kaare Senneset, ed. |
Keywords: | 551.345.1 -- Permafrost, surveys. 629.783 -- Satellites. 53.087.23 -- Remote sensing. 551.32 -- Glaciology. E3 -- Glaciology: instruments and methods. (*49) -- Alaska. |
