Record #93864:

A model for mapping permafrost distribution based on landscape component maps and climatic variables / M. Torre Jorgenson, Raymond A. Kreig.

Title: A model for mapping permafrost distribution based on landscape component maps and climatic variables / M. Torre Jorgenson, Raymond A. Kreig.
Author(s): Jorgenson, M. Torre.
Kreig, Raymond A.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: Trondheim: Tapir Publishers
In: Permafrost. Fifth International Conference. August 2-5, 1988. Proceedings. (1988.), Vol. 1.
Abstract: Computer model developed uses vegetation, terrain unit and equivalent latitude maps and regional air-temperature data as geographic database for calculating heat balance of ground surface. Simulated permafrost distribution within Spinach Creek watershed, near Fairbanks, AK, agreed closely with distribution mapped by photointerpretation. Effects of climatic warming on permafrost distribution were also assessed.
Notes:
