Record #93749:
Glacially deformed diamictons in the Karakoram mountains, northern Pakistan / Lewis A. Owen, Edward Derbyshire.
Title: | Glacially deformed diamictons in the Karakoram mountains, northern Pakistan / Lewis A. Owen, Edward Derbyshire. |
Author(s): | Owen, Lewis A. Derbyshire, Edward. |
Date: | 1988. |
Publisher: | Rotterdam: A.A. Balkema |
In: | Glaciotectonics; forms and processes. Proceedings of various meetings of the Glaciotectonics Work Group : Field Meeting, Møn, Denmark (1986)/INQUA Congress, Ottawa, Canada (1987)/Field Meeting, Norfolk, UK (1988). (1988.), |
Abstract: | Deformation of sediments takes many forms and occurs at several scales owing to variable glacial systems and large number of juxtaposed sedimentary environments. Karakoram glaciers and adjacent glacial sediments provide good examples of such variability. Describes two principal types of glacial sedimentary environments (Ghulkin and Pasu glaciers) and discusses structures found there. |
