Record #93741:

Morphological, structural and mechanical analysis of neoglacial ice-pushed ridges in Iceland / David G. Croot.

Title: Morphological, structural and mechanical analysis of neoglacial ice-pushed ridges in Iceland / David G. Croot.
Author(s): Croot, David G.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: Rotterdam: A.A. Balkema
In: Glaciotectonics; forms and processes. Proceedings of various meetings of the Glaciotectonics Work Group : Field Meeting, Møn, Denmark (1986)/INQUA Congress, Ottawa, Canada (1987)/Field Meeting, Norfolk, UK (1988). (1988.),
Abstract: Describes stratigraphy, morphology, external and internal structures, and mechanical characteristics of series of ice-pushed ridges in eastern Iceland. Formed by glacier advance into penecontemporaneous sediments in 1890. Structural elements can be divided into two groups: subglacial extension and proglacial compression. Stage-by-stage reconstruction of evolution of structures is modelled, and demonstrates clear relationships between resultant structures and style of deformation, mechanical properties of sediments and meltwater production.
