Record #93703:
On mesoscale modelling of the dynamics and thermodynamics of sea ice / Qian-ming Lu.
Title: | On mesoscale modelling of the dynamics and thermodynamics of sea ice / Qian-ming Lu. |
Author(s): | Lu, Qian-ming. |
Date: | 1988. |
Publisher: | Lyngby: Technical University of Denmark, Institute of Hydrodynamics and Hydraulic Engineering |
Abstract: | Presents new model; in dynamic calculation, new constitutive relation based on ice-floe collision is considered for determination of internal force in marginal ice zone (MIZ), while, in thermodynamic calculation, three-level approach is adopted instead of two-level in subpolar regions and MIZ. In addition, ice-open water moving boundary is introduced in model. Sensitivity tests and simulations for East Greenland Sea are carried out in order to examine applicability of model. Demonstrates that mesoscale model is better than previous models in simulation of sea-ice processes in subpolar regions. |
