Record #93599:

Use of the 500 mb SL (planetary scale component) in monthly/seasonal forecasting of Arctic ice conditions / Ronald E. Englebretson.

Title: Use of the 500 mb SL (planetary scale component) in monthly/seasonal forecasting of Arctic ice conditions / Ronald E. Englebretson.
Author(s): Englebretson, Ronald E.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: Boston, MA: American Meteorological Society
In: Second Conference on Polar Meteorology and Oceanography, March 29-31, 1988, Madison, Wisc. : preprints. (1988.),
Abstract: Comments on methodology for producing large-scale circulation pattern data through use of pattern separation procedure, which has three components: planetary vortex (SV), large-scale disturbances (SL) and small-scale disturbances (SD). Comparisons are made with aspects of rotated principal component analysis data and some applications to long-range forecasting of Arctic ice conditions produced by multiple linear regression model are presented.
Notes:

In: Second Conference on Polar Meteorology and Oceanography, March 29-31, 1988, Madison, Wisc. : preprints / American Meteorological Society.
