Record #93564:

Permafrost and coastal processes / H. Jesse Walker.

Title: Permafrost and coastal processes / H. Jesse Walker.
Author(s): Walker, H. Jesse.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: Trondheim: Tapir Publishers
In: Permafrost. Fifth International Conference. August 2-5, 1988. Proceedings. (1988.), Vol. 3.
Abstract: Within permafrost zone, mechanical and thermal energy combine to produce thermal erosion along river banks and coastal cliffs. Relative importance of these two energy sources is related to factors including quantity of excess ice within unconsolidated deposits being eroded and intensity of ocean waves. Discussion centred on coast from Bering Sea to Canadian archipelago.
