| Abstract: | Discusses multi-sensor approach for supplying data on sea-ice and wind parameters at various spatial resolutions in order to meet needs. of sea-ice monitoring and forecasting. Reviews present status of this approach, presenting possible image processing methods of combining remote sensing data of different resolutions, and also using in situ data. Presents operational forecast model for Barents Sea, and discusses principles of data assimilation in numerical models to increase accuracy of sea-ice forecasting. |
