Record #93392:

Correlation between the albedo of glacier surface and the optimal density of photographic images / A.M. Grinberg.

Title: Correlation between the albedo of glacier surface and the optimal density of photographic images / A.M. Grinberg.
Author(s): Grinberg, A. M.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: New Delhi: Amerind Publishing (for Division of Polar Programs, National Science Foundation, Washington, DC)
Language: Russian transliteration entered into original records using BGN/PCGN 1947 romanisation of Russian; Cyrillic text in MARC 880 field(s) reverse transliterated from this by automated process; BGN/PCGN 1947 text then upgraded to Library of Congress romanisation.
In: Data of Glaciological Studies. Chronicle. Discussions, No. 40. (1988.),
Abstract: Humidity, colour, and roughness of surface have greatest impact on value of glacier albedo, and also determine density, structure, and texture of photographic images. Differences in albedo of glacier surfaces correspond to differences in optical densities measured on photographic negatives. Photographs taken from helicopter give optical densities that correlate well with measured albedos on Lednik Marukh, Caucasus.
