| Abstract: | Equipment is described for measuring amount of freezing and temperature of ice at J-9 camp, using ultrasonic sensors and quartz thermometers installed under ice. During period from December 1978 to November 1979, 60 mm ice had frozen to under-surface of ice shelf, while ice temperature 2 m from lower surface was -2.26°C. |
