Record #93350:

Atmospheric icing measurements on a test line in a mountain icing site / Jacques Druez, Pierre McComber.

Title: Atmospheric icing measurements on a test line in a mountain icing site / Jacques Druez, Pierre McComber.
Author(s): Druez, Jacques.
McComber, Pierre.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: [Delft]: International Association for Hydraulic Research, Committee on Ice Problems
In: Proceedings, the 9th International Symposium on Ice, 23-27 August 1988, Sapporo, Japan. (1988.), Vol. 2.
Abstract: Test line set up at 902 m and icing compared on two single stranded cables, 12.5 and 35 mm in diameter, and four-conductor bundle. Tests also carried out on four strings of insulators: porcelain, glass, anti-fog, and long-rod synthetic insulators. Results show that 12.5 mm wire accretes more ice than 35 mm. Bundle cables accumulated slightly more ice than larger wire, but more ice shedding occurs along bundle.
