Record #93347:
A numerical model of ice accretion on structures / Urban Svensson.
Title: | A numerical model of ice accretion on structures / Urban Svensson. |
Author(s): | Svensson, Urban. |
Date: | 1988. |
Publisher: | [Delft]: International Association for Hydraulic Research, Committee on Ice Problems |
In: | Proceedings, the 9th International Symposium on Ice, 23-27 August 1988, Sapporo, Japan. (1988.), Vol. 2. |
Abstract: | Model has two main components: hydrodynamical part, which gives flow field and includes two-equation turbulence model, and particle trajectory model. Preliminary results include velocity, pressure, and eddy viscosity fields for flow around bar of trash rack at water intake where frazil ice may cause problems. Model is believed to be applicable to both atmospheric icing and to ice accretion in water. |
Notes: | In: Proceedings, the 9th International Symposium on Ice, 23-27 August 1988, Sapporo, Japan. Vol. 2. / Hiroshi Saeki, Ken-ichi Hirayama, eds. |
Keywords: | 624.142 -- Low temperature effects. 624.146 -- Anchor ice and frazil ice, damage. E6 -- Glaciology: floating ice. |
