Record #93345:

The influence of meteorological variables on the construction of ice platforms / K. Szilder, E.P. Lozowski.

Title: The influence of meteorological variables on the construction of ice platforms / K. Szilder, E.P. Lozowski.
Author(s): Szilder, K.
Lozowski, E. P.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: [Delft]: International Association for Hydraulic Research, Committee on Ice Problems
In: Proceedings, the 9th International Symposium on Ice, 23-27 August 1988, Sapporo, Japan. (1988.), Vol. 2.
Abstract: Proposes simple numerical model which simulates growth process of artificial floating ice platforms. Based on one-dimensional, time-dependent, heat-conduction equation. Solution consists of changes in time of ice temperature and of heat fluxes as response to flooding or spraying. Increase of surface roughness leads to substantial increase in rate of ice growth.
Notes:
