Abstract: | Computer model developed to provide better understanding of factors influencing breakup of river in NY, USA. Data available, which included ice maps, discharge, air and water temperature, water surface elevations, and channel geometry, are used in conjunction with developed equations to estimate ice flowing into and total volume of ice in study region. Ice flowing out is then computed using estimated inflow and change in volume values. |
