Abstract: Develops Stefan problem by linearizing total heat flux at air-snow interface and describing it by equilibrium surface temperature and heat exchange coefficient. Four approximate solutions calculating growth of ice cover are obtained by solving heat balance equation at lower surface of ice cover. Influence of meteorological elements on ice thickness, equilibrium surface temperature, and heat exchange coefficient are described on basis of calculated and experimental results.
