Abstract: Proposes theory based on energy considerations, which leads to integral equation with single parameter. General solution of equation should give set of non-dimensional concentration versus depth curves in different frazil loading and evolving conditions. Particular solution of equation produces curves which are qualitatively similar to field-obtained distribution curve from Lachine Rapids of St Lawrence River. Numerical solution of general integral equation will be reported later.
