Record #93307:

Laboratory observations of ice formation in frequently transited channels / Robert Ettema, Hung-pin Huang.

Title: Laboratory observations of ice formation in frequently transited channels / Robert Ettema, Hung-pin Huang.
Author(s): Ettema, Robert.
Huang, Hung-pin.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: [Delft]: International Association for Hydraulic Research, Committee on Ice Problems
In: Proceedings, the 9th International Symposium on Ice, 23-27 August 1988, Sapporo, Japan. (1988.), Vol. 2.
Abstract: Main problems created by frequent transiting are increased ice production and development of locally thick accumulations of brash ice such as ridges and plugs. Laboratory experiments showed that different hull shapes led to different patterns of ice formation.
Notes:

In: Proceedings, the 9th International Symposium on Ice, 23-27 August 1988, Sapporo, Japan. Vol. 2. / Hiroshi Saeki, Ken-ichi Hirayama, eds.

Keywords: 551.326.2 -- Floating ice, formation and decay.
656.61.052 -- Seamanship.
551.326 -- Floating ice.
E6 -- Glaciology: floating ice.
