Record #93199:

Primary productivity and the silica cycle in the Southern Ocean (Atlantic sector) / A.J. van Bennekom, G.W. Berger, S.J. van der Gaast, R.T.P. de Vries.

Title: Primary productivity and the silica cycle in the Southern Ocean (Atlantic sector) / A.J. van Bennekom, G.W. Berger, S.J. van der Gaast, R.T.P. de Vries.
Author(s): Bennekom, A. J. van.
Berger, G. W.
Gaast, S. J. van der.
Vries, R. T. P. de.
Date: 1988.
Abstract: Tentative data for the biogenic silica production in a section along 10°E are calculated from the dissolved silica distribution. Budget calculations of accumulated biogenic silica are affected by bottom relief. Dissolved silica concentrations in interstitial waters found to be highly variable.
Notes:

Offprint: Palaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology. Vol. 67 :19-30.

Special issue: "The Southern Ocean - the Antarctic: present and past. Papers presented at the Second Hans Pettersson Symposium at the Abisko Scientific Research Station, Sweden, April 1987".

Keywords: 574.55 -- Productivity, aquatic ecology.
574.5 -- Marine and freshwater ecology.
582.261 -- Diatomaceae.
551.352/.353 -- Marine sediments, deep sea.
