Abstract: Korsakovskiy was employee of Russian-American Company who was sent, from Kodiak, to explore part of Alaska Peninsula and coast from Kvichak Bay to Kuskokwim Bay. (Second expedition mounted in 1919, but no journal survives.) Vasil'yev (1797-1838?) was also employee of Russian-American Company and explored Nushagak, Wood and Togiak rivers, as well as Tikchik and Wood River lakes. Includes instructions given to Vasil'yev by general manager P.Ye. Chistyakov, March 1829. (Vasil'yev made second expedition in 1830, but that journal does not survive.)
