Global design load selection for Arctic mobile drilling platform / K. Kamesaki, N. Yoshimura, T. Petty, L. Chabot.
Title: | Global design load selection for Arctic mobile drilling platform / K. Kamesaki, N. Yoshimura, T. Petty, L. Chabot. |
Author(s): | Kamesaki, K. Yoshimura, N. Petty, T. Chabot, L. |
Date: | 1988. |
Publisher: | [Delft]: International Association for Hydraulic Research, Committee on Ice Problems |
In: | Proceedings, the 9th International Symposium on Ice, 23-27 August 1988, Sapporo, Japan. (1988.), Vol. 1. |
Abstract: | Describes method for calculating global ice loads necessary to design bottom-founded off shore structures intended to operate year-round in Arctic conditions (Beaufort Sea). Ice-tank tests were conducted using three different types of model ice, and pressure-ridge breaking loads are compared. Monte Carlo simulation was developed to establish probabilistic design loads based on return period intervals. |
