Abstract: Bacteria isolated from Antarctic sea and lake water samples examined for growth at 5° C and 25° C. 249 isolates were psychotrophic and one was psychrophilic. Of 93 isolates identified, majority were Pseudomonas. One strain may represent a new taxon of curved, gram negative bacteria.
