| Abstract: | Discusses thematic mapper images from Dronning Maud Land that were obtained by Landsat-5 in 1985. Images have six reflective bands with pixel resolution of 30 m, and thermal band with pixel resolution of 120 m; these seven bands cover wavelengths from 0.45 to 2.35 μm. Data collected 18 d apart show large changes on snow surface. Strong patterns in some images had nearly faded 18 d later. These strong patterns are not present at visual wavelengths or in thermal band, and it is suggested that they reflect wind-related variations in physical properties of snow. |
