Record #92261:

Observations of wind-generated waves in Antarctic fast ice / Greg B. Crocker, Peter Wadhams.

Title: Observations of wind-generated waves in Antarctic fast ice / Greg B. Crocker, Peter Wadhams.
Author(s): Crocker, Greg B.
Wadhams, Peter.
Date: 1988.
In: Journal of Physical Oceanography. (1988.), Vol. 18(9) (1988)
Abstract: Observations made in McMurdo Sound over period of seven months during austral winter 1986, using rosette of three wire strainmeters. Data reveal, for first time, nature and magnitude of wind-induced flexural-gravity waves in Antarctic fast ice. Below threshold wind velocity, no resolvable waves are produced, but at wind speeds above threshold, wave energy increases significantly with increasing wind velocity.
