Record #92256:

Thermoluminescence dating of glacially transported sediments: some considerations / A.M.D. Gemmell.

Title: Thermoluminescence dating of glacially transported sediments: some considerations / A.M.D. Gemmell.
Author(s): Gemmell, A. M. D.
Date: 1988.
In: Quaternary Science Reviews. (1988.), Vol. 7(3-4) (1988)
Abstract: Suggests that dating will be influenced by transport routes within ice and by facies of deposition, and concludes that, as knowledge of factors affecting rates of bleaching improves, so potential of technique to act as diagnostic sedimentological tool will increase, even when dating of glacial deposits by this technique is impossible.
Notes:

Quaternary Science Reviews. Vol. 7(3-4) :277-285 (1988).

Paper presented at Thermoluminescence and Electron-Spin-Resonance Dating; 5th International Specialist Seminar, 1987 (Part 2--Quaternary applications)

Keywords: 550.93 -- Geochronology.
551.332.2 -- Drift, glacial. Deposits.
E3 -- Glaciology: instruments and methods.
