Record #92164:

Holocene land emergence, western Simpson Peninsula, N.W.T. / Andrew Webster.

Title: Holocene land emergence, western Simpson Peninsula, N.W.T. / Andrew Webster.
Author(s): Webster, Andrew.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: Ottawa: Association of Canadian Universities for Northern Studies
In: Student research in Canada's north : proceedings of the National Student Conference on Northern Studies, November 18-19, 1986 = Les recherches des étudiants dans le nord canadien : actes de la Conference nationale des étudiants en études nordiques, 18-19 novembre 1986. (1988.),
Abstract: Following deglaciation at 9500 BP, peninsula (part of Boothia Peninsula) experienced major marine transgression. Regional rebound was rapid: 75% of total land emergence had occurred by 7000 BP, leaving extensive raised beach complexes and other sedimentary evidence, which was investigated during summer 1986. Maps are presented showing postglacial marine margin chronology and transformation of study area from archipelago to present relief.
