Record #91902:

Thermosyphons and foundation design in cold regions / Frank Donald Haynes, J.P. Zarling.

Title: Thermosyphons and foundation design in cold regions / Frank Donald Haynes, J.P. Zarling.
Author(s): Haynes, Frank Donald.
Zarling, J. P.
Date: 1988.
In: Cold Regions Science and Technology. (1988.), Vol. 15(3) (1988)
Abstract: Discusses results of laboratory tests conducted with two full-size, two-phase commercial thermosyphons in atmospheric wind tunnel. Test variables were air velocity and evaporator slope angle. Heat transfer conductance was found to increase with increasing air velocity and increasing evaporator slope angle. Results of finite-element simulation of thermosyphon beneath slab-on-grade foundation constructed over permafrost are discussed.
