Abstract: Account of biomedical programme of investigations carried out in summer of 1980-81 at instigation of SCAR Working Group on Human Biology and Medicine. Object was to monitor whole range of human responses to hostile environments. Investigations covering physiological, psychological, psychophysiological and adaptive aspects of man are described and results summarized.
