| Abstract: | Discusses results from studies made on this glacier in Tyan'-Shan' in 1985, comparing them with data obtained in 1967. Suggests that glacier tongue has warm ice kernel in upper and middle areas, but is frozen to bed in lower part. This causes periodic icing (aufeis) in cold periods and may be cause of surge in 1974-77. |
