Record #91659:

Holocene glacier fluctuations in South America and Antarctica / Chalmers M. Clapperton, David E. Sugden.

Title: Holocene glacier fluctuations in South America and Antarctica / Chalmers M. Clapperton, David E. Sugden.
Author(s): Clapperton, Chalmers M.
Sugden, David E.
Date: 1988.
In: Quaternary Science Reviews. (1988.), Vol. 7(2) (1988)
Abstract: Considers evidence for fluctuations along land-based transect from equatorial to polar latitudes. Assesses validity of data supporting model of at least four major glacier advances in Andes. Difficulties encountered in identifying and dating equivalent Holocene glacier advances on Antarctic continent and on aub-Antarctic islands are discussed, followed by overview of entire Andean-Antarctic transect in attempt to discern any synchrony in emerging chronologies.
