Wind-aided recruitment of Canadian arctic cisco (Coregonus autumnalis) into Alaskan waters / Robert G. Fechhelm, David B. Fissel.
Title: | Wind-aided recruitment of Canadian arctic cisco (Coregonus autumnalis) into Alaskan waters / Robert G. Fechhelm, David B. Fissel. |
Author(s): | Fechhelm, Robert G. Fissel, David B. |
Date: | 1988. |
In: | Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences. (1988.), Vol. 45(5) (1988) |
Abstract: | Summer wind data collected at Barter Island, Alaska, was compared with commercial fishery catches of arctic cisco at Colville River, Alaska from 1967-85. Results suggest that young-of-the-year fish which spawn in the Mackenzie River are aided in their westward dispersal into Alaskan waters via wind-driven longshore currents. |
