Pattern of air bubble inclusions in atmospheric ice formed during accretion growth / Pascal Gribelin, Pascal Personne, Harumi Isaka.
Title: | Pattern of air bubble inclusions in atmospheric ice formed during accretion growth / Pascal Gribelin, Pascal Personne, Harumi Isaka. |
Author(s): | Gribelin, Pascal. Personne, Pascal. Isaka, Harumi. |
Date: | 1988. |
Publisher: | Offenbach am Main: Deutscher Wetterdienst |
In: | Annalen der Meteorologie. (1988.), Vol. 25 (1988) |
Abstract: | Pattern formed by air-bubble inclusions in accreted ice deposits, obtained in dry-growth conditions, shows quasi-linear arrangement. Orientation of these channel-like formations is strongly dependent on experimental conditions and can be classified according to value of inertial parameter. Columnar growth of aggregates occurs as results of statistical fluctuation and shadowing of droplet impingement. Angle of channel orientation found to vary linearly as function of angle of droplet impingement. |
Notes: | Annalen der Meteorologie. Vol. 25 :214-216 (1988). |
Keywords: | 551.574.42 -- Rime, hoarfrost and glazed frost. E9 -- Glaciology: meteorology and climatology. |
