Record #90956:

A naval force comparison in northern and Atlantic waters / Robert Van Tol.

Title: A naval force comparison in northern and Atlantic waters / Robert Van Tol.
Author(s): Van Tol, Robert.
Tol, Robert van.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: London: Routledge
In: Soviet Union and northern waters. (1988.),
Abstract: Analysis reveals that Soviet northern fleet has large numbers of small, aged, or technologically unsophisticated vessels; therefore unlikely that Soviet Union could mount large-scale assault on NATO's sea lines of communication without seriously weakening its own ballistic missile submarine bastion. NATO's forces distributed across far-flung basing structure and are unaccustomed to operating in hostile environment of northern waters, but they are larger, more modern and capable. Includes comparative statistical tables.
