| Abstract: | Field work in Abisko area, north Sweden, in 1975, 1980 and 1982. Importance of apical dominance in controlling branching patterns is shown by regarding plant as metapopulation of modules, in which variations in fecundity, growth and survival of modules can be related to status of main apex. |
