Record #90438:

Nitrous oxide: trends and global mass balance over the last 3000 years / M.A.K. Khalil, R.A. Rasmussen.

Title: Nitrous oxide: trends and global mass balance over the last 3000 years / M.A.K. Khalil, R.A. Rasmussen.
Author(s): Khalil, M. A. K.
Rasmussen, R. A.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: Cambridge: International Glaciological Society
In: Annals of Glaciology. (1988.), Vol. 10 (1988)
Abstract: Ice cores from both polar regions analyzed to determine concentration of N₂O in pre-industrial and ancient atmospheres from 3000 a BP to present. Until recently, level was about 285 ppb volume; in 1984, it was 307 ppb volume. Increase mainly due to increasing use of fossil fuels. Atmospheric lifetime of N₂O is probably between 100 and 150 years.
