Record #90184:

Suomen lestadiolaislehdistön synty- ja alkuvaiheet vuosina 1879-1920 / Marjatta Aittola.

Title: Suomen lestadiolaislehdistön synty- ja alkuvaiheet vuosina 1879-1920 / Marjatta Aittola.
Translated title: Birth and early stages of Laestadian papers 1879-1920.
Author(s): Aittola, Marjatta.
Date: 1987.
Language: Finnish.
In: Faravid. (1987.), Vol. 11 (1987)
Abstract: All Laestadian journals founded before revival in 1908 were directed at whole movement, despite differing doctrines. Only very strict congregation at Gällivare was omitted. "Kolkuttaja" (One who knocks (at door)) was most central journal. It reflected confessional discussion's opposing views, though some tried to modify extremes. Bible and Confessional Books were main topics. Raattamaa-led majority did not approve of editors' tolerant line, and new journals were started.
