Record #88902:

The comparative fluxes of strong-acid anions in melting snowpacks and surface waters during spring melt in a boreal forest / Yves Bédard, H.G. Jones.

Title: The comparative fluxes of strong-acid anions in melting snowpacks and surface waters during spring melt in a boreal forest / Yves Bédard, H.G. Jones.
Author(s): Bédard, Yves.
Jones, H. G.
Date: 1987.
In: Eastern Snow Conference. Proceedings. (1987.), Vol. 43rd [1986] Annual Meeting (1987)
Abstract: As first step in study of acid pulse in Lac Laflamme watershed, Quebec, during snowmelt, contribution was determined of total strong-acid anion load, which had accumulated in snowpack during winter before beginning of spring melt and from rain-on-snow events during melt period, to strong-acid anion flux in surface runoff. Difference between measured loads in snowpack (plus precipitation) and in surface waters was then used to determine extent to which soil-subsurface water system acts as sink or reservoir of strong-acid anions during spring melt period.
