| Abstract: | Establishes that ultrabasite nodules in potassic alkali-basalts reflect close similarity to composition of same minerals in nodules evacuated by kimberlites. Since K-basalts on continents are confined either to rift structures or to diatremes, originating in mantle, it is suggested that alkaline basaltoid melts have formed at relatively deep levels in upper mantle compared with other basic rocks typical of continents.
