Abstract: Maximum thickness of continental lithosphere is identified with thickness of Earth's upper layer cooling conductively. Construction of model of such layer, taking into account erosion of upper part of crust, enriched by radioactive elements, allows that geothermal data on dependence of heat flow on age of geological structures agree with thickness of lithosphere under Siberian platform, which is 200 km according to seismic and magnetotelluric sounding data.
