Ice forces on marine structures. Volume 1 - calculations / T.B. Morrison, R.W. Marcellus, Norman F.B. Allyn, J. Tseng.

Title: Ice forces on marine structures. Volume 1 - calculations / T.B. Morrison, R.W. Marcellus, Norman F.B. Allyn, J. Tseng.
Author(s): Morrison, T. B.
Marcellus, R. W.
Allyn, Norman F. B.
Tseng, J.
Date: 1987.
Publisher: Ottawa: Public Works Canada, Architectural and Engineering Services
Abstract: Intended for use as guideline for engineers and provides detailed procedures and equations for predicting ice loads in various conditions. Four generic types of marine structure are considered: vertical-sided, sloping, floating, and ice islands. All methods described use analytic or numerical models based on estimated mechanical properties. Volume 2 provides detailed discussion and state-of-the-art review of methodologies in current use.
Keywords: 624.145.1 -- Floating ice, thrust.
624.145.5 -- Floating ice, bearing strength.
519.673 -- Modelling.
E3 -- Glaciology: instruments and methods.
Location(s): SCO: SPRI-SHF: 624.145.5
