Title: | Patterns of vegetation recovery after tundra fires in northwestern Alaska, U.S.A. / Charles H. Racine, Lawrence A. Johnson, Leslie A. Viereck. |
Author(s): | Racine, Charles H. Johnson, Lawrence A. Viereck, Leslie A. |
Date: | 1987. |
In: | Arctic and Alpine Research. (1987.), Vol. 19(4) (1987) |
Abstract: | Postfire vegetation and permafrost recovery rates documented in tussock and low-shrub tundra ecosystems burned up to 10 years prior to sampling. Presents a model which relates species fire survival strategies to severity of burning and to seasonal timing of fire. |
