Abstract: | These two glaciers were advancing in January 1987. During previous 18 months, Franz Josef Glacier advanced 800 m; between January 1986 and January 1987, Fox Glacier advanced 400 m. Represents response of glaciers to high precipitation of El Nino event in 1982-83, which caused high accumulation in catchment areas. |
