| Abstract: | Summarizes sample preparation and test techniques and presents results of tests of compressive, tensile, and confined compressive strength on over 500 samples from multi-year pressure ridges in Beaufort Sea. Authors do not feel that available data is sufficient to describe mechanical properties of this type of ice fully; in particular, investigations at high temperatures (-2°C) are needed. Discussion, p. 150-153. |
