| Abstract: | Deals with mechanical properties of ice from ice shelves, assuming this to be same as ice from ice islands (tabular icebergs), about which it is necessary to know in order to plan operations of, and to design, offshore structures. Suggests that it would be more desirable to investigate ice from ice islands, although this is more difficult to sample. Discussion, p. 78. |
