Record #88391:
Two types of intraglacial meltwater regime for the Bertil Glacier, Svalbard / V.V. Gokhman.
Title: | Two types of intraglacial meltwater regime for the Bertil Glacier, Svalbard / V.V. Gokhman. |
Author(s): | Gokhman, V. V. |
Date: | 1987. |
Language: | Russian transliteration entered into original records using BGN/PCGN 1947 romanisation of Russian; Cyrillic text in MARC 880 field(s) reverse transliterated from this by automated process; BGN/PCGN 1947 text then upgraded to Library of Congress romanisation. |
In: | Polar Geography and Geology. (1987.), Vol. 11(4) (1987) |
Abstract: | In 1960s and 1970s, runoff was faster than in 1980s. Volume of this englacial runoff made up of 40% of total runoff, compared with 10-20% for slower type. Suggests cause of these two types, possibly connected with progressive freezing of glacier and changes in hydrothermal regime. |
Notes: | Polar Geography and Geology. Vol. 11(4) :241-248 (1987). Translated from Materialy Glyatsiologicheskikh Issledovaniy, 1987, No.59, p.152-156. |
Keywords: | 551.32 -- Glaciology. 551.324 -- Land ice. 551.324.86 -- Glacier streams. 556 -- Hydrology. E11 -- Glaciology: glaciohydrology. (*32) -- Svalbard. (*324) -- Spitsbergen. |
