Effect of oceanographical factors on the abundance of the Barents Sea polar cod year classes / I.V. Borkin, V.K. Ozhigin, V.N. Shleinik.

Title: Effect of oceanographical factors on the abundance of the Barents Sea polar cod year classes / I.V. Borkin, V.K. Ozhigin, V.N. Shleinik.
Author(s): Borkin, I. V.
Ozhigin, V. K.
Shleinik, V. N.
Date: 1987.
Publisher: Bergen: Institute of Marine Research, Bergen
In: Effect of Oceanographic Conditions on Distribution and Population Dynamics of Commercial Fish Stocks in the Barents Sea : Proceedings of the Third Soviet-Norwegian Symposium, Murmansk, 26-28 May 1986. (1987.),
Abstract: Investigations of Gadus morhua in 1977-84 demonstrated that ice coverage over spawning areas in eastern Barents Sea promoted high survival of eggs and larvae. Close relationship between abundance of young cod and factors like wind and water temperature also shown.
