Record #88234:

Lake sediments and glacial history in the high Arctic; evidence from east-central Ellesmere Island, Arctic Canada, and from Inglefield Land, Greenland / Weston Blake, Jr.

Title: Lake sediments and glacial history in the high Arctic; evidence from east-central Ellesmere Island, Arctic Canada, and from Inglefield Land, Greenland / Weston Blake, Jr.
Author(s): Blake, Weston,
Date: 1987.
In: Polar Research. (1987.), Vol. 5(3) (1987)
Abstract: Extended abstract of paper presented at International Workshop on Late Cenozoic Paleoenvironment and Geology of the Arctic, held in Norway in April 1987. Glacial events may be dated by determining age of organic deposits associated with till or outwash. Results of use of this approach are outlined; dates do not exceed 9500 ¹⁴C BP, which suggest cover of glacial ice was present until immediate pre-Holocene.
