Record #88227:
The Late Weichselian-Holocene transition in the Barents Sea: sedimentological and early diagenetic studies / Carl Fredrik Forsberg.
Title: | The Late Weichselian-Holocene transition in the Barents Sea: sedimentological and early diagenetic studies / Carl Fredrik Forsberg. |
Author(s): | Forsberg, Carl Fredrik. |
Date: | 1987. |
In: | Polar Research. (1987.), Vol. 5(3) (1987) |
Abstract: | Extended abstract of paper presented at International Workshop on Late Cenozoic Paleoenvironment and Geology of the Arctic, held in Norway in April 1987. Study of sediments suggests that this transition may have been accompanied by onset of primary production in water masses and change from sedimentation of locally derived material by glacial processes to intrabasinal reworking by marine processes and supply of extrabasinal inorganic material by ice rafting. |
Notes: | Polar Research. Vol. 5(3) :289-290 (1987). |
Keywords: | 551.336 -- Ice ages. 551.79 -- Quaternary. 551.792 -- Calabrian. 551.794 -- Holocene. 551.332.2 -- Drift, glacial. Deposits. 551.3.051 -- Sedimentation and stratification. E7 -- Glaciology: glacial geology and ice ages. (*60) -- Arctic Ocean and adjacent waters. (*686) -- Barents Sea. |
